I will give you one example, If you are on the ground zero level(height = 0) then u have 100% visibiltiy. If you go up a mountain, i.e as height goes on increasing visibility wil get decreased. if you go up a mountain of about 4000 feet, you will be standing in middle of a mist fall or clouds which will be WHITE in color and will obviously u wont have any visibility, all you can see is whiteness. 

The same thing might have happened in your ridiculous experiment da. 
Try coming down. :DDDDD
